Country Director and Safari Guide
Not only is he a graduate of Kenya Utalii College (Advanced Diploma in Tour Guiding and Administration) but he also has a Bachelor’s in Environmental Studies from Kenyatta University. Furthermore, he spent 7 years working with Rwanda Development Bord( Tourism and Conservation department) as a professional tour guide and a year living and working with Jack Hanna at the Columbus Zoo! as a Zoo Keeper. He is Passionate, skillful, friendly and fun to be with.

Tim was our primary guide, and Norbert guided us on the last day. We enjoyed getting to know Tim. He was knowledgeable, kind, and a fabulous guide. We always felt safe and he went out of his way to make sure we getting the best experience possible. Norbert was great also. They both have such passion for their county and commitment to preserving the beauty of the habitat. Tim was so helpful in preparing us and we felt very taken care of.
Amazing time in Rwanda
Norbert was unbelievably good! He’s so friendly and knowledgeable, answering every question. He also knows everyone and every place, so he was able to give a great, personalized experience. We also had Daniel with us as a driver. He’s quieter but was a fantastic driver.

Norbert was amazing. Negligent, funny, and passionate about the country and its attributes. One thing that was a little different from what we were used to in Tanzania is that his lodging wasn’t where we were located, so we typically didn’t have meals with him. Gorillas in the jungle.
Norbert was extremely friendly and helpful. He has an extremely positive attitude and was a pleasure to be around. He made sure that we made it to our treks to find the gorillas and the golden monkeys. He is a great ambassador for Rwanda and the company. On rating our guide’s performance–Norbert did not go on the Treks with us…so spotting animals/birds and wildlife knowledge really did not come into play. Norbert is the best! I am sure all of your guides are excellent but Norbert was such a good fit for us. He is friendly, knowledgeable, smart and fun to be with. His driver, Valence, was a good driver and gave Norbert more time to talk to us as we were driving everywhere. We loved having Norbert and Valence share meals with us at the lodge. The highlight of our entire trip!
Norbert was absolutely amazing!!! Can we give him 20’s on the rating scale? He made our time in Rwanda so personal, so vivid, so real, so compelling. We had a great day exploring Kigali and then headed up to Volcanoes National Park for the Golden Monkey and Gorilla Trekking – absolutely the highlight of our entire trip! Norbert was always the perfect host, with style! He even arranged for a special, personal visit to a family home in Ruhengeri – it was marvelous! And Valence was the perfect driver!
